What is it?

Muladhara chakra or the root chakra is the first of the seven primary chakras in the human body. The Sanskrit word moola means 'root or foundation' and that is precisely what this chakra is. Mooladhara is at the root of the chakra system and its influences are at the root of our whole existence.


  • It is also the foundation of every individual’s future and the initiation of personality development

  • Vitality, vigor, and growth are the characteristics imparted in humans by this chakra

  • In tantra, mooladhara is the seat of kundalini shakti, the basis from which the possibility of higher realization arises

  • All the passions are stored in the muladhara, all the guilt & every agony has its root in the muladhara chakra


The Muladhara chakra is located at the perineum, the space between the anal outlet and the genital organ. 



It is symbolized by a red, four-petaled lotus with a yellow square at its center. Each petal has one of the Sanskrit syllables वं vaṃ, शं śaṃ, षं ṣaṃ, and सं saṃ written on it in gold, representing the four vrittis: greatest joy, natural pleasure, delight in controlling passion, and blissfulness in concentration.

Influenced by his teachers, peers, environment, and travels, Bhupender aims to bring an unparalleled sense of empowerment to each of his classes. He is a Motivated Yoga Acharya & Practitioner with advanced training in Hatha Yoga, a part of Ashtanga (eight limbs) principles. Through pranayama, asana & right intention he strives to have his students leave each class feeling refreshed and renewed. He aspires for Sthira Sukham Asanam (Steady Comfortable Posture) as a practitioner himself and motivates the students for the same. He aims to live a yogic lifestyle and lead his classes in a way that reflects that choice.
